Dr. Jonathan Preiss

After living in pain for seven years, I visited a chiropractor and was astonished that my pain was all but gone after just one adjustment! This was life changing for me. My plans to become a veterinarian were immediately side-lined and I began researching chiropractic colleges.

My practice has evolved over the years and my education in healing has become more comprehensive. While practicing in Tucson, I studied acupuncture and was licensed to practice acupuncture along with chiropractic for the benefit of my patients. In 1991, I began an Orthopedic Specialty program which I completed in 1993. Because of my diverse educational background, I see many different types of people with varying health problems, some of which other chiropractors have turned away.

Lesley Hendricks Acupuncture

Dr. Lesley Hendricks

Dr. Lesley Hendricks began her journey in holistic healing in her home province of Alberta, Canada, receiving her diploma in Acupuncture from Grant MacEwan University in 2009. She gained experience in the therapeutic techniques of Traditional Chinese Medicine and came to work as a registered acupuncturist in a busy chiropractic clinic.

During this time, Dr. Hendricks expanded her knowledge and skills, and ultimately became inspired by the successful results of chiropractic care. She eventually relocated to Portland to continue her education at the University of Western States, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and graduated from the Doctor of Chiropractic program.

Dr. Hendricks has treated a wide range of conditions and likes to work closely with each patient to improve health and promote healing. She is dedicated to continuing her education, and enjoys educating patients to empower them to take control of their health.

Dr. Karina Donskoy

Dr. Karina Donskoy

I chose a career in health sciences after I was hit by a car while riding my bike in 2011. I originally wanted to be a forensic anthropologist, but realized that my love for anatomy science and biology could be applied towards working with the living, rather than the dead. After my bike accident, I experienced the slow but rewarding process of rehabilitation post orthopedic surgery, and knew that I wanted to help others feel better too.

I have always been an active person. I played tennis, biked, and swam throughout my adolescence and began weight training and crossfitting in college. I have always worked around injuries and was fascinated by movement and body mechanics. At UCSC, I was part of the Sports Medicine Club, and in chiropractic college, I participated in multiple extracurricular seminars including motion palpation seminars, Rock Tape seminars, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization sessions, and Sports Council. My philosophy in chiropractic is helping patients feel better and get back to the activities they love to do.

Samantha L. Birch, Patient Care Coordinator

SamanthaAs the Patient Care Coordinator, I am one of the first points of contact for our patients at Chiropractic Art & Science! My goal is to make each and every patient feel welcomed and excited about receiving chiropractic care in our office. From our first phone conversation to when we meet on the initial visit, I am your point of contact and will be taking care of all your questions and concerns! I help manage all appointments, welcome you to the office and while you’re here, I assist our doctors while maintaining an environment of wellness and recovery.

I was born in Roseburg, a small Southern Oregon town. I moved to the Portland Metro area when I was young and focused my academics on Criminal Justice coursework. Due to a motor vehicle accident, I was unable to physically perform the duties that the profession required. I since then changed my profession to chiropractic, a greatly rewarding and flourishing position.

My personal hobbies include: Spending quality time with my beautiful family, creating home décor and I’m very passionate about cars. I am also a skilled softball player and an advocate for Pitbull Awareness. I also enjoy devoting my time volunteering for Oregon State Department of Fish & Wildlife, a legacy that my late grandfather built.
